The game developed by an Iranian game developer is a tribute to volleyball and Iran’s volleyball players who catapulted the sport during recent few years of extremely good performance in the world league and world cup as well. It takes even greater proportions when on Sunday, Lozano’s men wrapped up the Rio 2016 Olympics qualifiers in Tokyo with their sixth win against Venezuela, to end a tournament of good tidings and do a great feat of ascending to Olympics for the first time in history.
The unveiling ceremony of this computer game was held in Sarv Cultural House, where Kiamars Kordeh, the volleyball commentator presented the event. He has contributed to development of the game as commentator of the match; “in real matches, my job is quite easy, since I would directly see the actual game and how the game takes place; however, in a world of the computer games, the challenge becomes even more difficult and the commentator should pronounce with painful clarity the names of players and the whole commentary to be recorded forever,” he said.
Attending the event was Danial Tabiei, the Manager of the Project Volleyball 2016; “this is the greatest ever computer game in the country where the project simulated 30 real world games in the process; it incorporates all rules and techniques of the sport and the audience would easily learn the rules and appreciate the match complexities,” he detailed about the game; “the priority will be to improve the game in subsequent versions annually.”
Also attending the event was the Head of Iran’s National Foundation of Iran National Foundation of Computer Games Mr. Hassan Karimi Qoddousi, who announced a general call to developers to participate in monthly events to introduce a computer game of national origin; “sport games are highly popular with the young fans; for example, a complex sport as wrestling would provide tremendous challenges to be developed, however, it will be extremely rewarding in the market with going viral in the social networks as a novelty,” he told the event.
Also participating in the even Mahyar Asgharpour, Director of HighView, the distributor of Volleyball 2016 told the ceremony that any developer should have an eye on the market and public welcome of the final product; “I believe Volleyball 2016 will steal the limelight especially now that the sport has its own place in the hearts of the Iranians,” he added.
